This project was to write and design a book based on using a grid system.
The motherboard and narrative outline were used as building blocks in the planning of the book. My plan was to keep the design simple and clean, as the story would be most impacted with the photographs assisting in the story telling process. The images for Shrek and Buddies were the inspiration for my design approach.
The Process
The process began with gathering random photos for inspiration to begin the process. We then created a small story to connect the random photos.
The time is halloween and all of the animals are dressed to impress. We see them all gaze upon the final character who is dressed in his Halloween costume. Are they impressed, are they embarrassed? Decide for yourself as you watch each face look on in bewilderment or maybe slight amusement. I promise you will have to go back to the beginning and look at each expression after seeing the final costume.
The Font Decisions
Choosing the typeface began with looking into the best font for multipage reading. The choice for Minion Pro is a kid friendly font with curves that followed the theme look of kid books.
